"Black Magic" is about a young woman's wanderlust and how she discovers unexpected things about herself. To escape a very comfortable but boring life in 18th-century London, she runs away from home, disguises herself as a boy, and gets a job on an East India merchant ship. She gets more adventure than she bargains for when her ship stumbles upon a ghost ship adrift in the ocean, and her captain insists that she join the party that boards it to search for abandoned treasure.  Sword & Sorceress 23 is now on sale.
